Degerberg
Karen "Katie" Degerberg, born Sept. 11, 1949, died Sunday, Jan. 31st, co-founder of the Degerberg Academy of Martial Arts in Chicago, she was an RN at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and played a major role in developing protocols for the death and dying unit used across the country. Survived by her husband of 32 years, Fred, siblings Frank and John Eiermann, Mary Inebnit, Susan Bontrager and a multitude of other relatives and friends.
