Lavigne, Lynne Takami – October 27, 2009

Lynne Lavigne of Lincroft, NJ was born in Chicago on December 14, 1951, the daughter of Robert and Hisako (Narahara) Takami. She is survived by her husband George and two children, Timothy and Grace, of Lincroft; her mother and her sister Jeanne Takami, both of Chicago; and many beloved relatives and friends.

Lynne was a reference librarian for the Middletown Township Public Library, a prior reference librarian for the Woodbridge Township Public Library, and a long-time member of the New Jersey Library Association. She was also a member of the Lincroft Presbyterian Church and most recently its Clerk of Session. A 1972 graduate of the University of Illinois, Lynne earned a Master of Library Science degree from Rutgers University in 1979. She was a fierce competitor at bridge, an avid backyard gardener, and a lifelong lover of books, magazines, and good newspapers.

Friends may call at the John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Avenue, Red Bank, NJ from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 30. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, at the Middletown United Methodist Church, Middletown-Lincroft Road, Middletown, NJ. Burial will be in Montrose Cemetery, Chicago, IL. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home. The family asks that any donations in Lynne’s memory be made to the Lincroft Presbyterian Church, Everett Road and West Front Street, Lincroft, NJ 07738.
