SHIBATA
Saburo “Sam” Shibata, 86, retired contractor & businessman, passed away September 12, 2009, after a difficult struggle with cancer and diabetes.
Cherished father of Sabu Shibata and Markus Keller.
Dear brother of Yuki, Kouko, Terri and Hatsuko of Garland, Utah
Devoted grandfather of Nyssa, Shannon and Jasmine
He will be remembered as a man of endurance and spirit who taught us to care and took pride in his family and Nisei heritage.
Gathering of family and friends Monday, Sept. 21, 4-8pm, memorial service at 7:00 pm both

Sabu and Markus,

I was unable to sign on the guest book at the Salt Lake Tribune for some reason. My name is Karen Sato Whitney (daughter of Yuki and Wally Sato). I am saddened to hear of the passing of "Sab" as I knew him. It has been a long time since I last saw him. I hear from my Mom, Yuki that someone from Chicago may be coming to Utah. I would be privileged to have them come stay at my home. Please be sure to let me know if and when you will be coming! Looking forward hearing from you.
