To the friends and family of Fabian Guerra:

I want to offer my sincere condolences with regards to Fabian's passing, and in doing so, celebrate his life in the short time I knew him.

Back in another dimension known as the 1990s, Fabian and I (along with Jason Kunesh and Barry Bennett) were bandmates in a Chicago group called Peep. For the better part of two years, we experienced the best and worst of times, as musicians usually do. But throughout it all, I was always struck by Fabian's wonderful sense of humor. The man had a great natural laugh and a true twinkle in his eye!

Our band may not have ended on the best of terms, but I'm grateful for the fact that Fabian and I briefly reconnected, years later, when we shared a laughter-filled telephone conversation about the absurdities of being in a band together and the drama that comes with being a young musician. Through the years I've thought of Fabian often and he's always brought a smile. And it's comforting to know he always will.

Best wishes,

Jeff Rawwin

P.S. Just before sending this email, I noticed an online news headline: A Rare Peek Inside a Twister. Inside it was a story entitled "The Sideways Tornado" by Mike Krumboltz. http://buzz.yahoo.com/buzzlog/92654/?fp=1 One can imagine a sideways tornado as symbolic of a half-mast tribute to Fabian and the storms he loved to chase.

As you know, so many in the Chaser community have stepped up remembering the various times spent over the years with Fabian while storm chasing. It is so obvious that Fabian was a well respected, admired, and friend to so many.
I hope that this may help each of you find some peace and realize how special he was to so many of us too.
May the Lord grant you peace and comfort and be with you in your hours of need.
