Obituary

Tomoe Sunahara, nee Tada passed away on August 27, 2018 at the age of 98. Born on June 22, 1920.

She was born in Seattle, Washington to Tokuhiro and Masano Tada, and was the 2nd of four sisters. During the war, the family was relocated to a camp in Minidoka, Idaho. When the war ended, the family came to Chicago, and there Tomoe met and married Kay Sunahara. They moved to Rogers Park, on the north side and raised their son, Keith. Tomoe was a full-time mother, an excellent seamstress, skilled cook, and talented ballroom dancer.

Kay died in 2000 and in 2012 Tomoe moved into the Bethany Retirement Community where she lived until her death. She is survived by her son Keith (Janice). She was grandmother to William (Sereena) and Sarah. She was great grandmother to Caleb, Jacob, and Keiran.
