Maria Kebr nee Badini, age 61, of Chicago, beloved wife of Jerry; cherished mother of Christian; darling daughter of the late Carlo and Severina Badini; treasured sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin and adored friend of many. This was shared by Maria's son.

After a battle that has raged for the duration of my life and even further beyond that, my mom’s journey has come to an end. Words cannot describe how lucky I have felt every day of my life to be blessed with a mother as loving, full of life, and wise as she. She was a shining example of all that is good and that matters in life, even in the face of nearly insurmountable odds. I don’t think that anyone, even myself or my father, had a true grasp of just how sick she was because of how much life and love poured out of her, and how well she carried herself every single day. If you knew her and she knew you, she loved you.

Always make time for the people whose love gives you life. You never know what conversation or moment may be the last you get to experience with someone.

Dear Kebr,

I believe I am an old friend of Maria’s (Badini) from when I lived in Chicago many years ago. For some reason she came into my thoughts today and I searched her name and found out about her passing. I once gave her a bracelet that I found in Italy that had “Marco” engraved upon it. My sincere condolences to all of her family. Kindest regards,
