Robert Eiichi Ogi, 92, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2016 , at Presence Resurrection Hospital in Chicago. Bob was born March 30, 1925, in Hilo, Hawaii, the son of Iwakichi and Asako Ogi. He graduated from Hilo High School. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was awarded four medals for his service. Bob married Mitsuko Oki on June 19, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. Bob and Mitzi have two daughters, Elaine (Bruce) Hannigan and their daughter, Megan Hannigan (who was very close to her grandfather), and Gwynne Ogi (Bruce Yasutake). He had been a commercial artist with the art studio of Stephens, Biondi and DeCicco. He had been very active for years with bowling leagues at Marigold Arcade, golfing with many friends, a member of American Legion Post 1193, and the VFW of Forest Park. His family were members of the Church of Christ Presbyterian on Sheffield Avenue. One of his most favorite activities was being involved with many aspects of the Nisei Ambassadors Drum & Bugle Corps in the 1960s and 19760s. At this time, there is no memorial scheduled.
