Obituary

James Funamura, age 96, of Chicago passed away April 21, 2017 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of 68 years and best friend of the late Yurie; loving father to Kenny (Susan), Allen, Kathy, Robert and Michael; and many nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, Kaneichi and Ume Funamura; and brothers, George, Sam, Norman, Roch and Mas; and sisters, Minnie Masaoka, Dorothy Morita, Grace Nagata and Mary Iyemura. He served in the U.S Army in Germany and was a World War II veteran. Memorial visitation from 5-9 PM on Thurs., May 25, 2017 with a memorial service at 7 P.M. at Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 W.
