Edward Schmidt, 84, of Niles died April 30, 2017. Brother of Henry (Anna) Schmidt, Helga (Hans-Hermann) Michaelis, the late Bruno (Marlies) Schmidt, the late Ewald (Diane) Schmidt and the late Udo (Mary) Schmidt and uncle of Anke Wolf, Andrea Volbers, Marianne Polmanski, Henry Schmidt, Walter Schmidt, Karen Kline, Kristen Schmidt, David Schmidt, Peter Michaelis and Ralf Michaelis. Visitation from 4-8 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Lakeview Funeral Home, 1458 W. Belmont Avenue in Chicago. Laying in State from 9 AM until the 10 AM funeral service on Saturday at Saint Luke Church, 1500 W. Belmont Avenue in Chicago. Interment at St. Luke Cemetery, Chicago.
