Obituary

Marilyn Bernice Olsman, a long-time resident of Chicago, passed away suddenly on January 21, 2016 at the age of 66. While passing much too soon, Marilyn lived a full life with total dedication to her work, travel, her family, and to her amazing network of friends.

While she was born in Chicago, she lived her early years in Kenosha, Wisconsin graduating from Kemper Hall, in 1968. She then attended Lincoln College received her Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from Northern Illinois University in 1973.

Upon graduating from NIU she moved back to Chicago and began her career in the Personnel Recruiting industry with 33 Personnel, where she worked for 30 years. She also spent her last few years before retirement at Midtown Group. Her specialty was working with younger college graduates. She valued her personal and professional relationships, and many of the people whose careers she helped launch stay connected to her through the years.

Passion for art and travel with friends was an important part of her life. She journeyed through- out the world and explored Alaska to New Zealand.

Retirement afforded her the time for more travel, but also to become more involved with the community. She devoted herself to the Lakeview Pantry, a food bank, and was recently recognized for her contributions.

She will be greatly missed by her family, and her wide circle of friends.
