Obituary

Alice E. Yamamoto, 90 years old, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 4, 2015.

Alice (Al) was the beloved wife of the late Pete Y. Yamamoto; loved mother of Barbara Provo,
Ken Yamamoto and Leslie (Gordon Purtell) Yamamoto; cherished grandmother of Kristine (Derek) Blackwelder and Ian (fiancé Morgan Whelchel) Yamamoto; adored great grandmother of Clark and Brynn Blackwelder and an inspiration for all those who called her Aunty.

She was the daughter of the late Hideo and Mary (Ibara) Miyake and sister of the late Margaret (Robert) Shimamoto and the late Henry (Helen Nishino) Miyake. She is survived by her loving nieces Dale (Charlie) Coe, Gwen (Duane Siefers) Momita, Nancy (Dan Collins) Shimamoto, nephew Lance (the late Julie) Miyake, and was pre-deceased by nephew John (Marsha) Miyake.

Al will be remembered for her love of family and friends, Ikebana, being a loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and her dedication to the Midwest Buddhist Temple, as well as occasional visits to the casino.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. on January 24, 2016, followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m., both being held at the Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 West Menomonee Street, Chicago, IL.
