Natalie Sheree Johnson, known lovingly as Nattie, passed away on January 31, 2015 from complications with Lupus. While she only spent 26 years on earth, she touched many hearts and her memory will live on through her family and friends. Nattie was a firm believer in organ donation and gifted her lungs, liver and pancreas to others in need. Her legacy now continues through the lives of the organ recipients.

As a child, Nattie was always bursting with energy and would expend it running, climbing trees and twirling. She loved books of various genres, including female-led detective series, vampire love stories and the great classics, such as “To Kill A Mockingbird” and “Pride and Prejudice.” Nattie also enjoyed testing and expanding her knowledge by playing trivia games and puzzles. Over the years, she developed strong connections with her cousins by playing in the park with them as a kid and later caring for their children as an adult.

Two of the most profound roles Nattie held was as a daughter and sister. Although she was the youngest, she showcased her nurturing spirit at every chance. From making soup for the family in the cold-winter months to baking cookies to appease everyone’s sweet tooth, Nattie gave her all to provide comfort to her loved ones.

Nattie planned on returning to school to pursue a career as a nurse in a maternity ward or in pediatrics. Throughout multiple trips to the hospital, the role the nurses played in assisting in the health and comfort of their patients made a lasting impact on her and she wanted to pay it forward.

For countless years to come, Nattie will be remembered as an energetic foodie, a charming joker, a great mind, a caring girlfriend, a generous sister, a loyal daughter and a true friend.
