Obituary
Russell Ansai, 55, of Palatine and Chicago, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2014.
Russell was born on September 9, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to Reo Ansai and the late Yoshiye Ansai. He spent his childhood exploring the city with his older brother, Steve. Russell graduated from Lane Tech High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He married the love of his life and best friend, Susan Lani Kajiwara-Ansai, on June 20, 1987.
Russell was a loving and tenacious father, working tirelessly to care for his children, Lindsay, Michelle, and Nicholas. A lifelong philosopher and intellectual, he collected models, tinkered on cars, rode motorcycles, flew radio-controlled airplanes, took day-trips with his wife, and teased his children.
Susan, Reo, Steve, Lindsay, Michelle, and Nick will miss Russell’s physical presence and cherish his spirit. Visitation with the family will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home 1458 W. Belmont Ave Chicago, IL 60657 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Friday, September 26 with memorial celebration at 6pm.

Dear Mrs. Ansai and Family,
I was a colleague of Russell's for many years (I can't remember how long!). I was shocked and saddened to hear of his passing. I am reaching out because I want you to know how Russell touched other's lives. He was someone who made my job easier because he always worked hard and was there to support activities whenever he was needed. On top of that, the most important thing was that he was kind, steady, and never said a harsh word. I hope in this difficult time that you are granted strength and peace.
Sincerely,
Erin Webber
