A memorial service for Professor Emeritus George B. Trubow of The John Marshall Law School will be conducted at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2013, at the law school, 315 S. Plymouth Ct. A reception will follow. Professor Trubow, 79, was a noted expert on privacy law. He was on faculty from 1961-65 and from 1976-2000. He touched the lives of many John Marshall students. He founded the Center for Information Technology and Privacy Law at John Marshall, and wrote several books on the right of privacy. Between 1965 and 1975, Professor Trubow spent time in Washington working for various government agencies, including serving as general counsel to the Committee on the Right to Privacy, Executive Office of the President, spearheading initiatives to safeguard personal information. Professor Trubow died on Jan. 7, 2013. He is survived by his wife, Sue Hartin Trubow; sons Geoffrey and Jonathan Trubow; and daughter-in-law Dawn Schaefer Trubow.
