Janis L Petrovic(nee Stanley) 64 of Pontiac, formerly of Chgo died at 1:35pm Feb 13, 2012.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1947 in Chgo. Daughter of Ray Sr. & Vivian (Heuton) Stanley. She married Americo Rodriguez Jr. on January 29, 1966, in Chgo. They divorced in 1971. She married Tomislav Petrovic on April 7, 1975, in Chgo. Survivors include 5 children; Shane & Lonnie Rodriguez & Matthew, Janine & Mark Petrovic, 3 grandchildren, Vanessa & Juliano Rodriguez & Victoria Petrovic, 1 great granddaughter, Anaya. 3 brothers Ray, Jr, Frank & Thomas all of Iowa. Also surving is Ed Konetski, her loving companion & friend, with whome she made her home since 1998, & whom she dearly loved & always appreciated. Ms. Petrovic was preceded in death by her father & mother. She loved her family & friends & appreciated all the love & support she received from them over the years. She was a Jan 1966 graduate of Robert A Waller H.S. in Chgo, and became an ordained minister of the Universal Life Church in 2005. She loved dancing, bowling, fishing and reading. She also enjoyed numerous crafts, sewing, including sewing, crocheting, embroidery, painting, and gardening, to name a few; many of which she won awards for. She will be greatly missed & loved by her family & friends. Her last request is "Do not mourn my death, but celebrate my life, and if you smoke, please be smarter than I was, and quit before it's too late."
Visitation Feb. 16th Thursday from 4 pm until funeral service following at 8:00 pm, both at Lakeview Funeral Home 1458 W Belmont Ave. Chicago, Il. 60657
