BERTHA PRISCILLA HEBERT ,94, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Bertha Hebert, 94, of Palm Desert, CA formerly of Kankakee passed away July 17, 2010 surrounded by her family. Born September 13, 1915 to John and Elizabeth (Bach) Schmidt in Kankakee County, Illinois. Married Adrian G. (Herb) Hebert on April 9, 1942 in Escondido, CA. Caring and raising her family was her greatest joy and she showed it through her love of sewing, creating everything from play clothes to wedding dresses. We will always surround ourselves with the love she sewed into our personal quilts.
She is survived by her loving husband of 68 years and their five children: Adrienne Kirkeby (Steve) of San Diego, CA, Maribeth Holback (Frank) of Palm Desert, CA, Margaret Ham (Bob) of Rockton, IL, John Hebert of Nashville, TN, and Theresa McHugh (Terry) of Columbus NJ. Doted on her grandchildren, Scott Radous (Christina), Mark Hebert, Adam Hebert, Kalie McHugh, Robert Ham, Jr., Kathy Hoffman (John), Jeffrey Ham (Kris), Jessica Ham (Nyle), Daniel Kirkeby, Rachel McHugh, and Nicole McHugh. Adored her great-grandchildren, Isabella Radous, Andrew Radous, John R. Hoffman, Rebecca Hoffman, Lahayla Kern and Brayden Clark. Also survived by her devoted sister, Sr. Adrienne Schmidt, CSJ of LaGrange, IL, sisters-in-law, Alberta Bertrand and Marjorie Guimond (Bob), Jennie Schmidt and Barbara Schmidt; brother-in-law, Rev. John Hebert and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents and brothers, Vincent, Anselm, James and John Schmidt, and in-laws, Cletus and Ceil Hebert, Gerald Hebert, Stine and Peggy Stinespring and Raymond Bertrand.
Bertha was a faithful and devoted member of the Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 26 at St. Patrick’s Church, 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL 60175 with visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Burial at Resurrection Chapel Mausoleum, Geneva, IL.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph of LaGrange, IL.
